Description
Join us at Houston Botanical Gardens for our day retreat—Cultivating Health and Relaxation through the Wisdoms of Yoga & Ayurveda. From our inner and outer worlds everything is in dynamic motion. When we understand those systems of movement and flow, change becomes nourishing, rather than anxiety-inducing. Explore your inner systems through soothing Himalayan Hatha yoga, and meditative breathing techniques (Pranayama) with Renata, a Buddhist practitioner and rehabilitator who integrates modern and timeless health and well-being practices acquired in southern India. Merge into the healing power of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian medical system, through an interactive talk by Sarrah Zadeh, founder of Satt Sol and Director of the Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine at the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Houston.
After the sessions, dive into the divine taste of a healthy and delicious Ayurvedic light bites and warming tulsi tea prepared by Sarrah, enjoy further conversation and discussions with Sarrah and Renata, or take a walk in beautiful natural surrounding of the Houston Botanical Gardens.
This retreat is designed for students at all levels of experience. During the yoga session we will focus on aligning specific joints, engaging proper muscles, and purifying energy in the chakra system through a deep understanding of anatomy and an authentic yogi transmission. These practices also aid in reducing anxiety, nervous energy, and fear—improving decision making and overall mental stability bringing more freedom and happiness to mind.
During the Ayurveda session, you will learn about the basics of Ayurveda and healthy tips regarding diet and sleep cycles that can be applied to your lifestyle and are beneficial for all body problems. You will be guided through ancient wisdom on how to easily create and nurture inner harmony, bringing more energy into your system and elevating your wellbeing.
Please bring a meditation cushion, yoga mat and a blanket for your comfort. The weather conditions will not affect this event… Rain or Shine, we will be there!
