Description
Join us this holiday season to learn how to select, grow, and care for cut flowers in the Houston area. You will then be led through the creation of a beautiful holiday table arrangement by Shaila Shah, Ikebana artist and instructor.
Also known as kadō, ikebana is the traditional Japanese art of floral design. Ikebana uses lines, color, mass, form, movement, space, shape, balance, and a rich tradition of Japanese culture, religion, and symbolism to capture the perfect imperfection of nature and human emotion in floral design.
Each participant will take home their arrangement and a flowering plant to start their own cut flower garden. Pastries and Mimosas will be served.
Please remember that Houston Botanic Garden offers free parking and our events are often in climate controlled environments. If you have specific questions please email us at education@hbg.org
