Description
Bee homes! At HBG, as part of our sustainable beekeeping practices, we house our bees in Top Bar Hives. In this class, we'll explore how the structure of this hive mimics hives that bees create for themselves in the natural world, and how this type of hive makes managing bees more, well, manageable for bees and beekeepers alike. We'll demonstrate how easy it is to build a Top Bar Hive with easily accessible and affordable materials, and go over some basic Top Bar Hive beekeeping techniques. We'll also share plans for the type of Top Bar Hive that we use as well as sources for Top Bar Hive kits.
