HBeeG: Getting Started in Beekeeping
Description
Bee Curious? Hear from HBG beekeepers about the lifecycle of a colony of bees over the course of a year and the different roles bees play over the course of their short lives. We'll explore what it takes to begin keeping bees in a way that aligns with what bees naturally need to be healthy and productive in Houston's microclimate from season to season, and how this type of beekeeping aligns us, as well, with the local environment. We'll also examine the pros and cons of different types of hives, offer concrete tips on essential gear and tools, explain how to source your bees, and offer lists of resources to get you started.
Bee our guest for all 3 bee-themed classes on this day and you'll earn a complimentary lunch, click here to purchase your HBeeG day-pass!
